As promised, a map of the Santiago Metro! A quick exercise for you: trace our route to class. To go to the seminary, we get on the red line at Tobalaba, then ride it through a few stations until we get to Baquedano. We get off the red line there and switch over to the green line, and end up at Irarrázaval.
Some important metro stations are:
Los Leones on the red line. It’s within walking distance of our closest station, and it has some great shopping and food.
Los Dominicos, at the end of the red line. There is an amazing artisan market there, and most of the crafts are made by hand in the shops themselves
Santa Lucia、also on the red line. It lets out to Santa Lucía hill and another artisan market that is smaller but a little less expensive, with less selection and quality. But it is an excellent place to pick up souvenirs, and it is a lot closer than Los Dominicos.
Bellas Artes on the green line- the Museum of Fine Arts is near that station
Plaza de Armas on the green line, which is the central square of the entire city
Mirador on the green line, that stops in front of a HUGE mall, where we went bowling Friday night.
